Does anyone have a good reference for introduction to lab scale bacterial fermentation. I would like know which equipment I need? How to maintain? Media options? I would like to maintain relaxed amplified recombinant bacterial strains in a lab scale fermentation system.

If anyone has any suggestions, please post.

Thanks,

hi, in lab scale fermentation its very important to know the metabolism and growth requirements of your bacteria. if you know that its very easy. take care of the characteristics of the strain because recombinant DNA its very sensible and you can lose it. you can control that with the culture medium.

i dont know if you have this books in your country but they are good for me:

kreuser,H. 2001.recombinant DNA and biotechnology.ASM.Wahington.

Microbio:

Thank you for you response! It's funny that you recommend that book. I was just thinking about ordering that text along with Molecular Biotechnology 3rd Edition, Editors, Glick and Pasternak, ASM Press, 2003.
