Replied to topic in Cancer forum   BIOMARKERS

There is the a journal called Biomarkers: www.informaworld.com/smpp/title~content=t713693137. There are also a lot of 'white papers' published for the biotech industry, but they are mostly very expensive.

Biju, I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for an answer as this conversation appeared to start (?) and stop last year. But, thanks for trying.

Replied to topic in Grants, Manuscripts, and Career Advice forum   journal information

Posted comment on blog   Notes from Experiment Hell #1

I've often felt the best way to do things is to live by checkerboard analysis of everything. All the variables against all the other variables. Just muscle your way through all the possible permutations. On more than one occasion I've been stunned at the results of 'stupid' controls that I would ...

Replied to topic in Cytology, Histology and IHC forum   No WBCs in the blood sample

My thought is not as interesting as Guy's, but it may be possible that is just the way the smears were made. Sometimes if you press too hard or at the wrong angle then you get very few cells and even less WBC on the slide. Try to make sure that as the smears are prepared that the smear goes gradu ...
