Burkina Faso sees light from solar-powered LED lamps
Taiwan has an ongoing effort to promote solar powered LED spot light and other LED lamps in Africa. These efforts will yield result and bring new life to Taiwan LED industry.
According to the “A Light for Africa” project in Burkina Faso that sponsored by Taipei, Taiwan President Ma Ying-jeou said Taiwan’s ultimate goal is to allow all the students from 11,000 elementary schools in Burkina Faso to own one of the Taiwan-provided lights.
Burkina Faso, as a landlocked country, faced with the challenge of power shortage, with only 15 percent of locations in the capital receiving sufficient electricity supplies at night. Solar-powered LED lamps can provide light for many families.
