Happy Earth Day 2009
So,
The morning started with a free cup of coffee from a company which I would not say its name :-)
Then to a Histology Lab which was dealing with the Urinary System. I hope that you all remember the Nephron the glumerolus and Bawmans capsule.
Proceeding with reading articles. In the middle of one of the articles dealing with a " Comparison of continuous vs. pulsed focused ultrasound in treated muscle tissue as evaluated by magnetic resonance imaging, histological analysis and microarray analysis" I am thinking to myself how am I contributing to a greener earth.
Then it came to my mind ,,,,,
Years ago when doing my MSc and even PhD the use of the Internet was not so widely used. We used to go to the library photocopy and article and read it. At the end of my PhD I had maybe 200 articles. OOPS
Nowadays we have the WWW, we have pubmed and we have the ability to download article. So here is my contribution to a Big Green Marble (do you remember the big blue marble??). I am rarely use printed articles I am reading it directly from the screen. This is my way.
So, if each of us the scientists will read directly from the screen, think how many trees we would save from being cut.
Happy Earth Day 2009
