Posting Tips - Topic Description
Hi everyone!
This weeks tip on getting answers is using keyword descriptors to enhance the visibility of your post. This is assumes you have read my first two columns on crossposting and how to pick a title for your post. You can find those in my archive to the right.
The Topic Description (optional) line appears underneath the title when you click the NEW TOPIC button. This is one the most seldom used tools on the site when it comes to posting but can be very powerful.
Use this line to add high quality terms that describe your Topic.
From my previous example
The title we chose was "Best transfection reagent for siRNA silencing in CHO cells"
In the Topic Description (optional) line you might consider these keywords and phrases
"cells dying after transfection"
"no knockdown"
"problems with transfecting CHO"
or even "NEED HELP PLEASE"
These Topic Descriptions let people see quickly what your problem might be and whether they might answer. They appear just underneath your topic post on the main page of the forum.

Hope this helps get more answers for you all
