"Potential Energy" and the Spooky, Eerily Soulful Side of Science
In my world, the usual science lab night-time routine often consists of a bleary-eyed post-doc or grad student taking the last readings of the midnight time point, working out the cricks and stiff joints, hitting the 'save' button, stumbling thru' the coffee cups and other detritus of earlier hours, flick the switch and tool along home/dorm/whatever - leaving a lab with bright sparkly LED lights, glowing with potential, waiting to be energized in a new day (am I getting poetic or what??!).
But thats when the other world of science comes to life: as you'll see in these eerily beautiful pictures... and maybe thats when the little robot with the baseball cap at the Social Robotics lab comes out to play....
