Hi every body,
I found this cool article about the way human beings look at mathematics. We all can't participate in higher level math, but we do have an innate sense of quantity. This article suggests there is a direct link between the two. It also includes a link to the Approximate Number Test which measures your ability to recognize quantity in a split second.
My final score was a 75% over 26 tests. How well can you do?
Have fun.
Here is the article:

(I admit to being on my Junior High math team, and I'm not ashamed!)
96% over 26 tests! It appears I am approximately accurate!
I got as high as 90% over 26 tests and then thought I'll keep going to see if I can match Frasermoss. I ended up with 85% on 35. Can anyone match the famous frasermoss?!
I ended up with 92 over 25 - now maybe I can speed up my work with super duper approximation sense.... Wait a minute - i already know what happens when I do that! Ed, if you are reading this, do I qualify as labratz??!
20 tests and 100%. It wuld be interesting if it were possible to shorten the display time until mistakes started appearing.
test
Took me 5-6 tries to catch on, but after that its seemed pretty easy. 83% on 30 tries.
