Hey everybody,
Happy Friday.
Here is an interesting and comprehensive article on black politics in America. This is important considering the democratic party is about to officially nominate an African American man for the presidency of the United States. The article puts Obama's historic presidential run into a historical perspective of blacks in american politics.
The article is a little long, but definitely worth reading. I encourage any comments or conversation about the article. I'm curious to hear what people think.
Is Obama the End of Black Politics?

I wasn't able to see the whole article but I want to make a comment about Hilary vs Barack on research funding. I read both of Obama's books about a year ago and I forget now what the figure was for NIH funding Hilary was looking for over the next 10 years. Obama wanted the same amount in five years. There is a poll on this site about who would be best for research. Hilary got the most votes. I don't think alot of scientists are yet aware of Obama's commitment to research.
Obama killed it tonight at the acceptance speech. Brought tears a few times! Rb
