Novel post-translational modification

Nils Kroger and his colleagues have done some beautiful work on proteins isolated from diatom shells that have been shown to polymerize silica. The protein family are known as silaffins. A unique post-translational modification of these short peptides is the existence of long chain polyamines.

Does anyone else know of long-chain polyamine modification?

"long-chain polyamine modification?"   are you say protein modification or post translation modification(PTM)?

it's too complex if you take the spatial and temporal factors into account.
