The Butler University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences is seeking collegial, dynamic applicants with strong interpersonal skills for two 12-month, tenure-track faculty positions in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences. Appointments may be made at the assistant or associate professor level as appropriate for experience.
Applicants must possess a Ph. D. in pharmacology, medicinal chemistry, or biochemistry; have post doctoral research experience; and be currently engaged in research with an emphasis in drug design and metabolism and/or neuropharmacology. Ideal candidates would also have experience in teaching, with an emphasis on implementing learner-centered teaching methods. Applicants must have a strong desire to teach in professional and graduate programs and conduct bench research with multiple professional/undergraduate and graduate students in their lab and be willing to collaborate with other faculty throughout the institution. The individuals selected for these positions would be expected to establish their own independent research program and seek extramural funding to support it; team-teach courses in the professional and graduate programs; and mentor graduate students.
The College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, founded in 1904, offers programs leading to the Doctor of Pharmacy, Master’s in Pharmaceutical Sciences, and Master of Physician Assistant Studies. Butler University, founded in 1855, is located on a beautiful 300-acre residential campus that is situated in an established, diverse, residential neighborhood of Indianapolis.
