Post-doctoral fellowship in Nanostructured Materials for Heterogeneous Catalysis

The Centre of Excellence for Research in Sustainable Chemistry (CERSusChem), supported by FAPESP and GSK, offers a Postdoctoral fellowship for researchers with experience on nanostructured materials and their application in catalysis. The vacancy is open to Brazilians and foreigners who will join the team of researchers of CERSusChem at the Department of Chemistry of the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar). Candidates must have earned their PhD degree within the last 7 (seven) years, and proved expertise on the synthesis and characterization of magnetically recoverable microporous (zeolites and zeotypes) and mesoporous solids (SiO2, ZrO2 and TiO2) for catalytic applications. Fluency in English and ability to work within interdisciplinary teams are also mandatory. Direct experience on heterogeneous catalysis of small molecules (both solid-liquid and solid-gas) will be considered an extra. The researcher will investigate the synthesis and characterization of these magnetic composites as well the preparation of graphitic carbon nitride supported on the microporous and mesoporous solids described in the previous paragraph. These materials will be applied in the photocatalysis and electrocatalysis of small molecules as well as in the heterogeneous catalysis for the valorization of biomass derived organic molecules.Applications must be submitted only by e-mail to Professor Lucia Helena Mascaro Sales (cersusuchem@ufscar.br). Those interested should send a resume (short CV) including publications in the area of this project. The registration period ends on November 5th, 2016.This opportunity is open to candidates of any nationalities. The selected candidate will receive a FAPESP's Post-Doctoral fellowship in the amount of R$ 6,819.30 monthly and a research contingency fund, equivalent to 15% of the annual value of the fellowship, which should be spent in items directly related to the research activity.More information about the fellowship is at: www.fapesp.br/en/5427.
