I am a recruiter working assisting a biochemical company located in Torrance, CA to identify and hire a West Territory Field Sales Representative.  If you have already responded to a request for your resume on this position, there is no need to respond again.  Here are the details:
JOB FUNCTION:
The Field Sales Representative is responsible for the execution of all sales efforts, analysis and results within the North America West sales territory. The Field Sales Representative must meet all sales targets within the assigned territory.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Devise and execute a sales plan for the assigned territory to meet assigned sales targets in all market segments.
2. Proactively prospect new peptide and complex organic molecule
manufacturing opportunities within assigned territory.
3. Identify and guide new business opportunities through the sales process to close orders and grow sales within the assigned territory.
4. Identify and proactively contact the relevant personnel within the sponsor organization to explore potential manufacturing outsourcing relationships.
5. Communicate company capabilities as appropriate to all levels within sponsor organization.
6. Meet with the relevant personnel within the sponsor organization to generate new project inquiries and advance the progress of pending inquiries to close orders.
7. Employ a systematic sales approach to insure that sales targets are met.
8. Act as liaison between customers and company organization.
9. Gather and present information requested by customers about company.
10. Initiate and issue quotations.
11. Participate in forecasting and sales budgeting by providing market analysis and sharing market knowledge.
12. Participate in sales campaigns and promotions to maximize return of Marketing efforts.
13. Provide emerging product and market trends to the company organization to insure that technical knowledge and product offering remain current.
14. Maintain account and market information in company proprietary knowledge management software program.
15. Track and analyze the sales data from the assigned territory to gauge the success of the sales plan and provide appropriate reports as requested.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Coordinate with Inside Sales efforts to maximize sales success.
2. Coordinate with Customer Service efforts to insure a positive customer interaction with company Americas.
3. Recommend Marketing campaigns and promotions as identified.
4. Assist Marketing in staffing trade shows booths and exhibitions as required.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Minimum B.S. or B.A. in Science or Business field related to company product offering, MBA helpful.
2. Continuing education as needed to maintain current expertise.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATION:
1. 3-5 years chemical industry sales experience required.  Peptide chemistry
and business management experience a plus.
2. Excellent computer skills required including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
