Am having problems looking for IL1 beta and TNF alpha message in Zebrafish. There are publications that describe IL1 primers that work but in our hands they don't.
Does anyone have a pair of primer sequences that work - or even better, info for Taqman primers and probe that we could order?
Many thanks
PM
P.S. Does anyone else get different sized beta actin PCR products from 3day embryos compared to adult fish cells?
It would seem that there are two TNFalphas in zebrafish - due to gene duplication. However, this hasn't really solved the problem as it seems that the zebrafish do not respond to LPS in the same way that mammals do, making it difficult to use them as an inflammation model system.
The fish derive from the waters of the Ganges ( I believe) so will have evolved to be tolerant to large amounts of bacteria.
