EMBO Practical Course on HT Microscopy for Systems Biology

The course is aimed at Ph.D. as well as post-doctoral students from universities and research institutes. The students should have an immediate use for the techniques coverde in the course in their own research at their home institutions.
High throughput microscopy methods require a highly interdisciplinary approach and consist of only recent developments. Therefore these methods are not taught elsewhere in undergraduate and postgraduate educuation. Nevertheless they are and will become key technologies in future basic as well as applied research in the life sciences.
Every day of the course will adhere to the following format:
09.00 - 11.00 Lectures by instructors and invited speakers related to practical aspects of the course
11.00 - 13.00 Practicals in teams of 3-4 students
13.00 - 14.00 Lunch
14.00 - 18.30 Practicals in teams of 3-4 students*
18.30 - 19.30 Dinner
20.00 - 21.00 Evaluation of results and discussion, voluntary practical work as desired by student**
* on the last day of the course summary of results in a short presentation
** on the first day of the course: 20.00 - open end Poster session with wine and cheese
