Is there anybody who has worked on RBPT in Glanders diagnosis. If yes, how much reliable do you find this test to be used for dianosis in field?
I was under the impression that glanders is a zoonotic infection of cattle, horses etc caused by Burkholderia spp while Rose Bengal Plate Test or RBPT is performed for Brucellosis in cattle.
Could you provide more details in your post?
I found this 1917 article in Nature on tests for glanders in horses. We have to appreciate the amount of work that went into tedious tests.
Yes, RBPT is applied for Brucellosis too, but my concern is to enquire about the Reliabiltiy of specificity and sensitivity of RBPT for Glanders
Yes, you can read the following paper:
'Comparative evaluation of Rose Bengal plate agglutination test, mallein test, and some conventional serological tests for diagnosis of equine glanders' which appeared in J. Vet. Diagnostic Investigation, 2007, 19: 362

Thank you very much Dr. Sakib for quoting the related paper. I will try to find it out.
