Does anyone know of a chemical, surfactant, or disinfectant that is effective at removing trace amounts of Gentamicin from equipment? We have a machine that uses a lot of tubing and we can't seem to completely eradicate the gentamicin from it. It is inhibiting the growth of microbes in the cleaning validation studies we run after the machine is cleaned.
Anything that works against the aminoglycosides would be helpful. I'm wondering if filling the machine with something like IPA overnight would help.
