Flow cytometer

We plan to buy a flow cytometer. The main use will be direct or indirect staining of tumor cell lines. Which one do you suggest at a low price ?
Thanks
Nathalie

Check with Guava technologies, they have bench top flowcytometer machines that are not too expensive.

The Guava Technologies

The Guava Technologies instrument is quite good - at ~30k USD onwards, it has very small sample sizes, multiple formats and is quite capable, especially if you wish to look at single/dual markers. However, the operating program supplied with it is not at all very capable - you might want to use a dedicated analysis program such as WinList or FlowJo (PC and Mac repectively). Alternatively, the basic BD machine, the FACScan with a single Ar laser at 488 nm suffices for most common applications - with the bonus that you might be able to get a pre-owned machine for a low price - the CellQuest software that comes with the machine is quite sufficient.
