The appointment will be full time on UCL Grade 7. The salary range will be £31,905 – £38,594 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
A Cancer Research UK funded post is available within the Radiation Biology Group at the UCL Cancer Institute.
The successful candidate will set up and run experimental systems to investigate the mechanisms of radioresistance in relevant tumour cell, stem cell and normal tissue models in vitro and in vivo, this will include isolation and culture of specific cell populations, use of DNA damage assays and survival endpoints, gene expression studies and high throughput screening techniques to assess the role of specific proteins and inhibitors. Pre-clinical in vivo work will include the use of highly targeted radiation in glioma models and normal CNS.
The post is initially funded until 31st December 2013.
Applicants must hold a BSc and PhD and have previous research experience.
Applicants must have experience of molecular biology techniques, protein purification, of DNA/RNA extraction and analysis and a knowledge of DNA repair.
