Postdoctoral/Research Associate Positions in Energy and Environmental Systems Engineering
We are looking for individuals with research experience in area of energy and environmental systems engineering. The research work will involve assessment of both renewable and non-renewable energy conversion pathways and is a part of large long-term initiative in this area supported by industry, provincial and federal agencies. These positions are open immediately in the following research areas.
Life Cycle Assessment of Energy (LCA) Systems – Individuals applying for a position in this area of research should have interest and some experience in life cycle assessment of energy production, conversion and utilization pathways. The individual should also have some experience of working with relevant LCA tools.
Techno-economic Assessment of Energy Systems – Individuals applying for a position in this area of research should have interest and some experience in development of techno-economic models for estimation of viability of energy systems. The individual should also have some experience of process modeling and relevant modeling tools.
Duration and Salary: The positions are initially for one year and have a possibility of extension. The remuneration will depend on the qualifications and experience.
Desired Qualifications: The candidates should have a PhD in relevant engineering/science discipline with emphasis on energy systems.
The successful candidate will have an opportunity to join an active group of researchers in the areas of energy and environmental systems engineering and supervise junior researchers. The candidate is expected to carry out research on assigned project(s). The candidate will also have the opportunity to develop and initiate new research activities in the relevant areas. In addition to research activities, teaching opportunities in the relevant courses in the Department of Mechanical Engineering could be explored.
