Postdoctoral Scientist in Microbiology at RVC Univ of London
This is an exciting opportunity for those with an interest in experimental microbiology and vaccinology to join the UK’s oldest and largest veterinary school. You will join a highly active and multidisciplinary group with current interests in novel pathogens associated with canine infectious respiratory disease (CIRD). At present, the focus for the postholder will be on mycoplasma pathogenesis, genomics, genetic diversity and vaccine development in a new strategic initiative to develop a protective vaccine for a global market . You will be associated with the RV C’s team on canine infectious respiratory disease and will benefit from dedicated containment laboratories and strong links with an international industrial partner in the USA.

Salary: £30,324 pa inclusive
2-year fixed term

You will have a PhD in molecular microbiology or a closely related discipline and experience in microbiological/molecular biological/genetics techniques. Experience in microbiological culture and quantitation is preferred, particularly with mycoplasmas.
