Investigator: Jean-Pierre Kocher, Ph.D.
A Research Fellow/Research Associate position is available at the Bioinformatics Program in Department of Health Sciences Research at Mayo Clinic. The candidate will be involved with a team focused on advancing bioinformatics research activities aligned with the needs of one of the prioritized research areas of the Center for Individualized Medicine (Biomarker Discovery, Pharmacogenomics, and Microbiome). The development and success of the Center for Individualized Medicine is considered as a top strategic research priority by Mayo Clinic Leadership.
Candidates should have a PhD degree in bioinformatics, biology, biophysics or related field with 0-2 years experience in research. Candidates must have domain expertise in genomics data preprocessing, data analysis, data interpretation and data integration. Additionally, successful applicants must demonstrate published evidence of having independently and successfully initiated and developed research projects. He or she should be will to work collaboratively with investigators. The preferred candidate will have published research work on Next Generation Sequencing and presented research findings at regional, national, or international conferences. Flexibility, creativity and excellent communication skills are a must.
