Postdoctoral Position in Nonlinear Microscopy & Laser Photonics, University of Manitoba, Canada
Knowledge of nonlinear optical microscopy and spectroscopy methods, techniques, and instrumentation is a must. Experience with diode-pumped femtosecond laser systems, nonlinear frequency conversion (SHG/OPO/OPG), and laser characterization techniques is highly desirable.
Knowledge of motion control, optical detection electronics and data acquisition programming (Labview or C++) is a plus. Effective communication skills (oral and written) are a must.
Applicants should have a PhD in Optics, Photonics, Physics, Engineering or Chemistry with relevant experience.
Scholarship Description: The Biomedical Photonics Group within the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Manitoba, Canada, has open position for a postdoctoral fellow with specialization in nonlinear laser microscopy or femtosecond spectroscopy (e.g. TPEF/SHG/THG/CARS).
The research of the group is focused on development of advanced laser sources and their application in biomedical sciences. The successful candidate will work on development of a new nonlinear optical microscopy setup for imaging of biological samples.
The candidate will also have an opportunity to contribute to the development of femtosecond laser sources, nonlinear optical experiments as well as to work alongside and supervise PhD/MSc students working in these areas
