Postdoctoral Position in Computational Mathematics at Umeå University, Sweden
The applicant should have PhD degree, or equivalent, in mathematics with specialization in computations related to the project, preferably not older than three years.
Scholarship Description: Research at the Department of Mathematics and Mathematical Statistics is conducted within mathematics, mathematical statistics, mathematics education and computational science. Important cooperation partners include the Institute of Technology, the biological and forestry departments, the Umeå School of Business, and industry.
We also have a well-established cooperation with the Department of Statistics at Umeå University. We provide education at all levels with a particular focus on the Master of Science programs at the Institute of Technology. The postdoc will work in a research group in computational mathematics.
The research is focused on development of computer methods for solution of partial differential equations with applications in solid, fluid, and bio mechanics.
The research activities are interdisciplinary and build on a combination of mathematics, computer science, and applications.
