Postdoctoral Fellowship in Functional Genomics : New York, NY, United States
Postdoctoral Position at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center
Positions are available for candidates with a PhD and/or MD within the laboratory of Daniel Higginson and the closely associated laboratory of Simon Powell in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. The lab utilizes functional genomic approaches to discover and characterize genetic variants that influence response to DNA damaging agents used in the treatment of cancers. We are particularly interested in moving beyond the GWAS era by directly characterizing functional variants using advanced genome editing technologies. Our work integrates the study of double strand break repair, cancer genomics, and human genetics.
Successful candidates will be ambitious, dedicated individuals with a publication record, experience with cell and molecular biology, and a desire to learn/develop new technology. Relevant skills include cell culture, flow cytometry, next generation sequencing and genome editing. Candidates with some background in bioinformatics would be looked upon favorably, but it is not essential to the position.
If interested, please email Dr. Higginson (firstname.lastname@example.org) and send the following items:
-A cover letter describing your research background, career interests, and expected availability
