Postdoc in Microbial Synthetic Biology

The Seelig lab at the University of Washington is inviting applications for a postdoctoral research position in microbial synthetic biology. We are interested in understanding how biological organisms process information using complex biochemical networks and how such networks can be engineered to program cellular behavior. We aim to engineer synthetic gene regulatory networks for controlling cellular decision-making and pattern formation in bacteria.
We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in molecular microbiology. Expertise in working with cyanobacteria and microscopy skills are a plus.
Applicants must have recently earned a doctoral degree in Bioengineering, Biology, Biochemistry, Biophysics or a related discipline. Strong communication skills, good problem solving skills and independent thinking are required.
Interested individuals should send their CV, one representative publication, and a list of three references (with e-mail addresses and phone numbers) to Prof. Georg Seelig,

Deadline: February 28, 2013
