We invite highly motivated candidates to submit applications for a PostDoc position in Energy Team of the Laboratory for Catalysts and Solid State Chemistry, Lille, France.
 
Job description:
The overall task will be to investigate attrition resistance and stability of heterogeneous catalysts for methanation of biosyngas in the presence of different impurities (S, N, etc). The project will be conducted in collaboration a major gas company with the goal to design industrial platform for synthesis of Bio-SNG (Substitute Natural Gas) from ligninocelullosic biomass.
 
Your profile:
• you will ideally have a PhD in chemistry or chemical engineering;
• experience in catalysis, catalytic reactors and material sciences;
• solid background in experimentation, basic knowledge in modelling;
• fluent English or French is mandatory.

I am writing to express my interest in the PostDoc position in Energy Team of the Laboratory for Catalysis ans Solid State Chemistry.
I have been carrying out the PhD at the University of Córdoba during the last four years. My PhD entitled: “Activity and deactivation studies of several zirconia-based catalysts in Meerwein-Ponndorf-Verley (MPV) reduction of crotonaldehyde to crotyl alcohol” is focused on heterogeneous catalysis, in particular for the selective reduction of α, β- unsaturated carbonyl compounds to obtain the corresponding unsaturated alcohol. Therefore, I have a solid experience in heterogeneous catalysis.
During this time, I have learned to use several characterization techniques of solids, namely: XRD, TGA-DTA, N2 adsorption-desorption isotherm, XPS, ICP-MS, EDX, TPD, FT-IR, DRIFT and FT-Raman. Moreover, I synthesized my own catalysts using three different methods: precipitation, co-precipitation and impregnation.
 
After developing Chemistry degree and PhD in Córdoba I would like to go on with a postdoctoral position dealing with new catalysis research. In this sense, I find your research project is very interesting. The opportunity presented is very stimulating, and I believe that my strong experience and education will make me a very competitive candidate for this position.
