The Department of Physics, Biology and Chemistry (IFM) at Linköping University in Sweden has been in operation for four decades and during that time expanded quite substantially. The number of employees is around 420, including 45 full professors and some 130 graduate students. In addition approximately 70 guest researchers visit us every year. The department is organized in 5 Scientific Areas; Applied Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Material Physics, and Theory and Modelling.
We seek a postdoctoral researcher to perform (primarily) theoretical work towards understanding the operation and design requirements for polymer light-emitting electrochemical cells (LECs).  This work will be performed as part of a larger interdisciplinary project (“Large-area light emission on the roll”).  This project will involve considerable modelling work, including finite element simulation of the ion and electron transport in devices.  This project will be performed in close collaboration with one of the world’s leading research groups in LECs at Umeå University, and the electrical engineering department here at LiU.
The successful candidate will hold a PhD in Physics, Physical Chemistry, Materials Science or Engineering, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field obtained within the previous 4 years (earlier if official leave for childcare, etc. can be documented).
Documented skills and previous experience working with modelling and simulations, particularly with applications to device physics and/or polymer electronics will be considered a merit.
