Responsibilities:
* Responsible for initiating and moderating the exchange of information between R&D formulators and counsel in the US and Canada directed to the development of generic drug dosage forms
* Responsible for the flow of information between R&D and Legal through regular meetings with R&D to assess progress, guide formulation development of products and provide input from outside counsel
* Meet with outside counsel on a regular basis to discuss ongoing work
* Work with counsel and lead discussions with R&D to facilitate the determination of valid formulation strategies to determine the most viable solutions for the corporation
* Request and review patent landscape searches and patent clearance opinions from outside counsel and make an assessment of information relevant to Teva
* Work with R&D and with outside counsel to obtain patent clearance opinions on a timely basis
* Insure timely completion of all legal documents required to file generic products in the US and Canada
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: 10 % Domestic and international travel
Qualifications:
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical or Biological Sciences required; MS or PhD in Organic Chemistry or equivalent in experience required
* Patent Bar preferred
JOB QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
* 10+ years experience within a pharmaceutical or allied industry
* Understanding of the requirements for obtaining a valid patent
* Strong Project Management skills
* Ability to multitask and must have strong organizational skills
* Strong mentoring and leadership skills
* Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Access
* Previous patent experience preferred
