The Company:

My client are a established biotechnology company located in Cambridgeshire and they specialise in providing protein engineering to pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies for the discovery, identification and design of new peptide, protein and antibody compounds.

The Role:

As a Research Scientist you will be responsible for protein library design and construction, selection and screening and characterization of leads using various molecular and biochemical methods.

You should have experience in molecular biology techniques, protein engineering and display technology (cell-free systems or phage display/Ribosome Display). Also protein expression and purification, protein biochemistry, sequence analysis, cell culture and high-throughput screening.

The Requirements

The role requires a MSc in a relevant subject along within 2-3 years experience working with a biotechnology company or pharmaceutical industry using all the techniques required. Having previous experience in the skills is a must although some training can be given. They are keen to see people with Bacterial or Yeast Display or investigated protein to protein invectors.

The Package

Great Benefits on offer with the chance to work for a growing biotechnology company. Salaries are £24,000 to £28,000 depending on experience.

Please not this role isn't suitable for people with a PHD or are working in a senior position, they are keen to find recent MSc students with a couple of years expeirnce in industry with relevant skills.
