A postdoctoral position, funded by The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (USA), is available to work with Professor Bob Ford to provide a 3D structure of the cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) protein, which, when mutated, gives rise to cystic fibrosis.
You should have a PhD in Biochemistry or Molecular Biology, although other biological science disciplines may be considered. A background in protein biochemistry, preferably with experience in membrane protein expression and purification is essential.
Applicants must have some experience of structural biology and the implementation of crystallographic software. You must also be able to present work as scientific papers and oral presentations at scientific meetings.
The post is tenable immediately for up to 12 months in the first instance.
