SUPERVISORY HEALTH SCIENTIST ADMINISTRATOR
The National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS), a major research component of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), is seeking applications from exceptional scientists to serve as Chief of the Bioinformatics and Computational Biology Branch OR the Biomedical Technology Branch in the Division of Biomedical Technology, Bioinformatics, and Computational Biology.
The Division of Biomedical Technology, Bioinformatics, and Computational Biology supports studies in and tools for understanding complex biological systems. The Division aims to leverage data and technologies to answer fundamental questions about biology, and develop a more robust computing infrastructure for the biomedical research community. NIGMS is seeking individuals with scientific, administrative, and leadership credentials who can lead and manage grant programs in the Bioinformatics and Computational Biology Branch or the Biomedical Technology Branch within the Division of Biomedical Technology, Bioinformatics, and Computational Biology.
Qualifications: Applicants must possess a Ph.D. or M.D., plus scientific knowledge and demonstrated expertise in at least one of the following areas: computational biology, bioinformatics, or biomedical technology. The successful individual will also possess leadership and managerial skills, and strong oral and written communication skills. Applicants must be U.S. citizens.
Salary and Benefits: The current salary range is $124,995 – $157,100, and is commensurate with experience and accomplishments; a full Civil Service package of benefits (including retirement, health, life and long term care insurance, Thrift Savings Plan participation, etc.) is available. Recruitment or relocation incentive may be awarded, and moving expenses may be paid.
