Vacancy available for a Quality Assurance Manager (QA) to take a key role in the Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) Laboratories of the Departments of Oncology and Haematology, and at the UCL Cancer Institute GCLP laboratory. The post holder must develop and maintain the standards of GMP and GCLP in translational research and will work closely with regulatory and advisory bodies to define quality criteria for novel gene and recombinant protein therapeutics and diagnostic agents, laboratory and imaging investigations and trial designs.
The QA Manager will work with both GMP production facilities, which are required to comply with the Good Manufacturing Practice and Clinical Trials Directive of the MHRA (Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency). All stages of manufacturing projects, from design through production to application in the clinic, are carried out by both GMP facilities. The QA Manager is expected to contribute both practically and intellectually at all stages including external supplier audits and document control.
The post is funded for 2 years in the first instance.
The successful candidate must have an extensive knowledge of GMP, GCLP and the Clinical Trials Directive is required for this role along with the ability to generate and maintain quality systems.
The candidate must have the ability to train and lead others in GMP along with excellent organisational skills, interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently.
