Thermo Scientific offers a complete portfolio of chromatography products for improving analytical performance and workflow productivity. We offer a comprehensive range of consumables for this area, including columns, vials, closures and syringes, all the tools necessary for today’s chromatographer. 
 
We have a team of Product Managers based at our Head Office in Cheshire and now have a requirement to recruit the following 
 
The Product Manager formulates strategies and executes them to meet and exceed growth targets of their business segment. The product manager is responsible for long-term growth opportunities for products in their segment. They will have comprehensive knowledge of all marketing intelligence of their segment including; market share, competitors, large customers, commercial opportunities. They will recommend new requirements or products and participate on cross functional development teams who develop these products from concept through to launch. 
 
Essential Job Functions and Accountabilities: 
Manage all aspects of the product lifecycle
Responsible for implementing pricing, competitive positioning, value proposition, promotion, product roadmaps, forecasting, and sales channel support
Support business decisions with objective data
Interacts with key customers and channel partners to understand problems, obtain feedback on new and existing products and identify solutions.
Synthesize these inputs and ensure product roadmaps, requirements, and business plans are updated for both new and existing products
Analyze segment, market and channel trends utilizing industry research, including client research and focus groups
Develop forecasts, monitor competitive activity and identify product differentiation opportunities
Identify new product opportunities for the marketplace
Create, manage and monitor business plans for all new and existing products
Provide strategy and direction for all promotions for new and existing products to increase revenue and profit; product launches, web, commercial promotions, customer and commercial training
Lead preparation for supplier negotiations and contract development
Drive collaboration and communication with inter-related areas of the business
Help drive strategy for new products within chromatography
Give technical focus to sales colleagues (including distributors and channel partners) – new product ideas, technical sounding boards for new ideas
Focused regional selling initiatives
Execute well developed, flawless launch campaigns
Deliver and execute on Thermo Fisher Prioritization projects
Package our solutions – deliver high end kits to internal and external customers, working with PMs and applications groups, providing an application focus that can be sold through our commercial channels
Drive Thermo Fisher divisional collaborations
Educational Qualifications:
BS degree required; Biology, Chemistry or Engineering degree preferred
Advanced degree (e.g. MS, PhD, MBA) a plus
Experience & Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years previous Sales, Marketing or Product Management experience required.
Experience in the separation sciences laboratory industry with specific knowledge of the nano/capillary LCMS area
Demonstrated high technical capability.
Ability to affect other people and influence direction.
Excellent oral and written communications skills.
Demonstrated ability to operate independently to take initiative and exercise astute business judgment to drive performance.
Works cooperatively with others in sharing and listening to ideas.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to draw actionable conclusions.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Process improvement experience a plus
