Applications are invited for a highly organised Dementia Research Project Manager who will take overall responsibility for an array of research projects the Dementia Research Register a major project which focuses on supporting translational basic science research and clinical trials.

This is a wide-ranging and challenging role and the post holder will be required to travel extensively within the South London area and the South East in general.
 
The successful candidate will take overall responsibility for project supervision and progression, including management of the dementia theme field team of research workers. He/she will co-ordinate and implement day to day running of clinical trials, undertaking cognitive assessment of research participants, biological sample collection and neuroimaging. The post holder will be expected to take an active role in liaising with clinical teams within the Mental Health of Older Adults and Dementia Clinical Academic Group (CAG) to encourage partnership working and increasing involvement in NIHR Biomedical Research Centre for Mental Health and CAG research activities. 
 
The NIHR Mental Health Biomedical Research Centre and Dementia Unit bring together researchers, clinicians and allied health professionals from two internationally recognised organisations: South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLaM), the UK’s largest mental health service provider and the Institute of Psychiatry at Kings College London, Europe’s largest centre for research and postgraduate education in psychiatry, psychology and neurosciences. Both SLaM and Kings College London are partner organisations within the Kings Health Partners Academic Health Sciences Centre (www.kingshealthpartners.org. This is a fixed term position until the 31st March 2017.
