We are seeking to appoint an individual with proven leadership skills, a strong track record of attracting research funding and a national and international profile for excellent research. The appointee will grow our research capacity, performance and reputation. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading cellular pathology research, including the development of molecular pathology, mentoring junior clinical academics and scientists, contributing to the MBBS and postgraduate research programmes, and for translating research results into efforts to improve clinical or public health practice and service delivery.

The Daisy research and development facility and the proposed multi million pound investment in a Health Hub at the University of Hull (which will bring together and house a strong methods infrastructure for applied health research, including a clinical trial unit) provide an excellent basis for an individual with vision and the desire to build multi-disciplinary collaborations across Hull, York and the NHS and beyond.

A generous start-up package would be available to support the new Chair in establishing him or herself in this exciting role.

The appointee will hold a clinical academic contract through the University of Hull on behalf of both the University of Hull and the University of York, and an Honorary Contract with the NHS, the details of which will be subject to negotiation depending upon the appointee’s clinical interests.
