Ma Kam Ming MSc Scholarships at Bradford University School of Management, UK
For entry in September 2011, the School of Management is offering up to four scholarships for full-time postgraduate study leading to the degree of MSc, at the School. These awards are designated the Ma Kam Ming Scholarships, in honour of his family’s generous benefaction.
The scholarships are offered to candidates who meet the normal SoM/UoB admissions requirements for entry to the full-time MSc, and who are: permanent residents of the Hong Kong SAR; or citizens of the PR China.
Preference may be shown to graduates of: a UGC-funded HEI in the Hong Kong SAR; or an HEI in the PRC that is included in the Project 211; or management/business studies. Preference will be shown to candidates seeking the degree of MSc in International Business & Management, although candidates for any full-time MSc offered by the School in Bradford are eligible to apply for the scholarships, subject to the criteria specified in paragraph 2, above. Candidates for the scholarships should accompany their initial application for admission to the MSc programme with a statement explaining how they meet the eligibility criteria.
Eligible candidates who already hold offers of admission to the full-time MSc programme commencing September 2011, may also apply for scholarships. All applications for scholarship must be received by the School of Management by 31 July 2011, and decisions/awards should be announced by mid-August.
The scholarships are awarded by the scholarship selectors panel, the membership of which is: one senior academic member of the permanent staff of the UoB, representing the Vice Chancellor of the University of Bradford;
one academic member of the permanent staff of the School of Management, representing the Dean of the School of Management; one academic member of the staff of the School of Management who is knowledgeable about bachelor degree programmes offered by recognised HEIs in Hong Kong and in the PRC; and is supported by the secretary of the panel who will advise on School of Management application/admissions criteria and procedures, and is responsible for communication with candidates.
The awards are bestowed following the panel’s evaluation of candidates’ academic attainment in bachelor’s studies; and application file including personal statement and references.
