Chair in Science Communication and Digital Media : University of Salford

The School wishes to appoint a Chair in Science Communication and Digital Media who will lead and develop our profile of activities in this area. The role will develop and extend our interactions with colleagues in Arts and Media and in Computing Science to raise our profile in Science Communication. The successful candidate will have an outstanding international profile and will be expected to lead research initiatives and build our research capacity for REF2020. The appointee will be expected to maintain an active portfolio of funding, to supervise postgraduate and postdoctoral researchers and to make a strong contribution to research, enterprise and engagement through high quality published outputs and wider realisation of impact. A proven ability to establish and conduct collaborative research at international level with academic or external partners is required. Applicants should be committed to high quality, research-led teaching and to assist in the development of a new programme in Science Communication which will build on our current collaborative Masters in Wildlife Documentaries.
