Description
The Associate Director/Director of Business Development will play a key role in Business Development & Licensing to help identify, structure, negotiate and execute licenses and strategic alliances. In this highly visible position, there will also be the potential to identify product in-licensing opportunities that support strategic objectives. The Associate Director of Business Development will be an interesting and dynamic position with anticipated deal flow that will span a variety of asset classes and structures providing rich deal experience in the context of being a part of a well recognized and respected company.

Key Responsibilities

 Work with and coordinate broad cross-functional teams in the preparation of presentations to potential partners, preparation of due diligence room as well as managing this team in the various interactions with potential partners throughout the deal process.

Manage the development of the business case and financial model with other internal functions, as well as project manage the overall assessment of the transaction.

Prepare and deliver presentations to Executive Management integrating and summarizing scientific, clinical, financial, and market information.

Identify potential partnering opportunities that could help meet our strategic objectives

Assist in the structuring and negotiating of licensing agreements with potential business partners (in conjunction or with senior members of the team).
 

Requirements

Medical or scientific education - a Masters degree at minimum, a PhD/MD degree is preferred.

Relevant business experience (pharmaceutical, biotech, venture capital, investment banking, an MBA in addition will be favorably viewed).

3-5 years of business development experience; deal sheet demonstrating experience and past successes.

Ability to forge relationships internally, as well as externally.

Skills / Competencies

Strong interpersonal skills, ability to persuade and motivate others.

Ability to synthesize and summarize a complex set of facts and set opportunities within the broader strategic context.

Adept at handling multiple projects and tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Able to build and maintain contacts with potential partner companies
