Accounts Receivable Lead- Consumer Packaged Goods Job

This position is responsible for managing approximately $190 million in customer deductions spanning the entire breadth of our Logistics and Trade Promotion relationship with 170+ customers. Manage staff, which researches validity of deductions and ensures proper documentation and compliance to Merck policies for timely and accurate resolution from accounts receivable. Manage the day-to-day operations of off-site third party service supplier, ensuring their continued development and training.
This position will use the SAP and Seibel systems to deliver the expected results.
In the area of promotional payments, responsible for ensuring that sufficient documentation is provided by Sales/Customer to avoid Robinson-Patman issues in the submission of payment claims. Manage $3.0 to $4.0 million liability, annually, in trade relation deductions which represent policy conflicts between Merck Consumer Care and our customers. Oversees and ensures necessary steps are taken to mitigate said policy conflicts, by working with Sales, Customers and others internally.
Manage the processing of promotional payments through the Siebel system to ensure data integrity and synchronization of transactions with SAP and Accounts Payable, as well as proper posting to the General Ledger. Coordinates improvements and upgrades to the system's functionality by working cross-functionally with IT support group.
Responsible for budgeting and staffing decisions. Coordinate with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance with corporate polices and procedures.
Knowledge of financial principles and customer business practices in a consumer packaged goods environment is essential to enable this position to maximize the company's payback opportunities
Education: Bachelors Degree required.
Experience: 8-10 years business experience, specifically in deduction management, trade marketing, finance and/or compliance in a consumer packaged goods manufacturer environment. Previous experience at a CPG manufacturer is mandatory.
