Keep an eye out on Nature and

Keep an eye out on Nature and Science jobs. Personally, i think the best approach is to identify labs based on papers you read and liked, check out the institution/lab web page, and directly apply to the PI. All the best!

Hi

Hi
Thanks for the advise,
I am already in contact with some labs in Europe.

It sounds like you want a lab that does more applied research. EMBL is very strongly focused on basic science. If you fancy Heidelberg though, there is the DKFZ (German Cancer Research Centre) and they do a very wide range of work, much of it very applied and in association with MDs at the various hospitals. (www.DKFZ.de)

Other possibilities could be the Max-Planck Institutes (all over Germany) and the Fraunhofer organization, which is very applied indeed. They do all sorts of work - that's where MP3 was born. I think they are also all over Germany.

Good luck

Hi SingH,

Hi SingH,
In my current research I am involved in mollecular biology, I study the proteomics of lysosomal membrane and matrix, related to changes due to starvation oxidative stress etc. I also did some work with presenilin knock out cell (also studied the differences in the proteomics between autophagic vacuoles and lysosomes). In another research I did some work with siRNA lamp2a knock down 3t3-nih cells. My thesis was involved in biomaterials and bone, I studied the osseointegration of titanium implants, and also did some work about several cell adhesion mollecules and their influance on the implant osseointegration.
Best regards Guy
