I have some very old FFPE tissue samples and I am trying to dissolve their paraffin but after several washes with xylene, the paraffin is still visible. I was wondering if it is ok to leave the samples in xylene at room temperature in gentle shaking overnight?

one of my laboratorymate having same problem but when she changed her xylene i.e fresh xylene her problem resolved.you try with fresh xylene and yes you can leave your sample overnight in xylene but room temperature should be 25 or less.
