TE Buffer after DNA extraction

 Hi

I did the whole dna extraction of my samples using the phenol chloroform method. After the step with 70% ethanol, I let my samples to dry, next step will be to add the TE buffer but I didn't have enough for all my samples, so I closed the rest of my tubes and I kept them in the freezer 4C until tomorrow so I can get the rest of the TE buffer that I need for the rest of my samples. My question is if there will be any problem with my samples since I couldn't put the TE buffer after I dry them? Thanks

Hi cpd, it is perfectly okay

Hi cpd, it is perfectly okay to store DNA in the dry form. Leave them in -20 deg instead of 4 deg just to be safe. Good luck.

Hi cpd,

Hi cpd,

I agree with Pippuri. In addition dry DNA is actually more stable than DNA in any solution, including TE, so if you are not going to be using your DNA any time soon you might as well keep it dry until you need it.

Cheers
