Opening For Research Bioinformatician in Single Cell Genomics : Oxford

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Research Bioinformatician to join the groups of Professor Sten Eirik Jacobsen and Dr Adam Mead Funded by the Medical Research Council and NIHR the position is initially available for two years.
You will specifically work on the analysis of single cell transciptome (RNA-seq) data sets from normal and malignant haematopoietic stem and progenitor cells. You will be expected to develop novel methods and pipelines to analyse single cell gene expression data at the whole transcriptome level.
You will hold an MSc in bioinformatics or a PhD degree in bioinformatics, biostatistics or molecular biology with a high bioinformatic content. A strong programming ability including Unix/linux system, programming language (Java, Python, PHP, Perl) and experience with Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) data are essential. Strong statistical skills and experience with MySQL or PostgreSQL and database design are desirable.
