The First International Conference of Asian Allelopathy Society December 18-22, 2009, Guangzhou, China Organizer Asian Allelopathy Society Host South China Agricultural University Invitation On behalf of the Organizing Committee we sincerely invite all scientists, students and others in Asia and around the world who would like to attend the First International Conference of Asian Allelopathy Society (AAS) that will take place at South China Agricultural University in Guangzhou, China, December 18-22, 2009. Asian Allelopathy Society will be formally organized during the conference. The AAS Executive Committee will then be elected. The conference would provide an excellent opportunity to exchange the latest development in allelopathy research and application and to establish collaborative research among allelopathy scientists in Asia and around the world. A scientific program will include a four-day conference. We will also arrange an attractive social program. We welcome all scientists with interest in allelopathy in Asia and all over the world to attend this conference and join the Asian Allelopathy Society. All abstracts, posters, and oral presentations will be in English without translation. Accommodations University Hotel US$35/day for a standard double room and $10 for an additional person per night (Tax included). Off-campus Hotel: prices vary from US $50-$200 depending on the facilities. Early booking of off-campus hotel is advisable. Full details on booking will be included in the Second Circular. Registration Fees Early registration fee is $280 USD, and late registration fee is $350 USD. Student registration is $140 USD, and late is $200 USD. Registration includes transportation from the Airport, all meals during the conference, local field trips, book of abstracts, and the registration kit. Spouses may register for $150 USD which does not include registration kit. Preparation of Preliminary Abstracts Prospective authors (presenters) should submit a short, preliminary abstract (one page, double spaced, with author's affiliation and mailing address). The abstract will be used for placing your presentation in the general topics of the Conference (see "Proposed Topics"). Upon acceptance of the preliminary abstracts, detailed guidelines and instructions for preparation of the papers will be sent immediately to the authors. Deadlines and Key Dates The deadline for abstract submission will be May 1, 2009 and the confirmation of acceptance will be on May 30, 2009. The second circular will be delivered before June 15, 2009. The deadline for full paper submission will be on September 30, 2009. Participants who like to submit manuscripts published in a special issue of Allelopathy Journal should submit their full papers to Dr. Rensen Zeng before May 30, 2009. Early registration will be ended on October 30, 2009. Time and Location: The symposium will be held from December 18-22, 2009 at the conference center of South China Agricultural University in Guangzhou, China. South China Agricultural University (SCAU) is a beautiful and famous university located in Guangzhou City, China, covering an area of more than 550 hectares. With a history of 98 years, SCAU is a multi-disciplinary, comprehensive university with programs in agriculture, engineering, liberal arts, basic sciences, economics, management, law, education, history, philosophy and other disciplines that are distributed over more than twenty colleges.
