ELISA and low cytokine concentrations

Hi!
I was wondering if someone could answer me this:
How can I measure cytokines using ELISA in a solution that has very small cytokines concentration and high volume of solvent?

I guess you can concentrate your samples using some commercial columns and check the concentration of cytokines and then calculate the real concentration according to the volumn left.

Volumn A (known)XConcentration A(unknown)=Volumn B (known after concentration)XConcentration B (from ELISA)

Hi.

Hi.
Thank you very much for the idea...

Hope to have enought cytokines concentration to be detected by the ELISA...

I am thinking on analysing the exhalated breath condensate and this fluid has a very small number of molecules and high concentrations of water.

Bye

If price is not an issue,

If price is not an issue, Mesoscale has an assay that measures cytokines down to pg/ml. Also cytometric bead assay by BD might be more sensitive than ELISA but it's also pretty pricey.
