Upper hind limb fractures in large animals

Why inspite of so much of the development is medical and veterinary science, repair of complicated hind limb fractures in large animals still remains a big challange?
Is it simply the lack of will to do so?

Its never lack of will. Hind

Its never lack of will. Hind limb supports the most weight of the body and has few of the strongest muscles in the body. secondly the bones are going to make contact with the pelvic girdle due to which any movement in the lower abdominal region as well as in the pelvic region comploicates the situation......
Even more complications arise because unlike humans you cant get the animals to take complete rest.
