We are seeking an enthusiastic and ambitious veterinary graduate to take up a Senior Clinical Training Scholarship (SCTS) in Small Animal Surgery at Bristol Veterinary School. Applicants must have completed an ECVS recognised internship or have a minimum of two years’ experience in small animal practice. The training programme is approved by the European College of Veterinary Surgeons (ECVS). You will receive training in soft tissue surgery, orthopaedic surgery and neurosurgery and work in a team with 9 seniors veterinarians and 6 SCTCs.
This Scholarship is available from the 27th of July 2015 and is tenable for three years, subject to satisfactory annual review of progress.
Candidate requirements: The scholarship training programmes require full participation in the School’s clinical services, including the out-of-hours rota, in addition to small-group teaching of veterinary students. Scholars will be expected to complete a clinical research project and submit their results for publication in peer reviewed scientific journals during the scholarship training.
Applicants for SCTSs must be a Member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, or hold a veterinary degree qualifying them for membership. Starting Stipend (tax free): £17,564 per annum. Out of hours duties attract an additional stipend.
