Multiclamp 700B IC mode

hi, I'm a newbie to current clamp. I wonder if anyone can give me an idea how the slow current injection works in Multiclamp 700B IC mode. To be specific, what does the "time" for injection mean? My trouble is how to decide what time I should set if say I would like to hold a cell at -65mV and record action potentials (APs) evoked by stimulation. I found different time setting affects the afterhyperpolarization potential a lot. And what the difference it will be between injecting a constant current to set the Vm versus using like 5s as the time in the slow current injection for a fast response like AP. If no difference, it's better to use slow current injection, right? since it automatically compensates the voltage drifts. I try to play with all these settings but can't be sure my understanding is right.

many thanks,
