inducing depolarization

anybody knows of a depolarizing agent which could be applied intravitreally and induce depolarization of retinal ganglion cells and hence optic nerve? I was thinking simply of KCl or TEA but if anyone has any other idea I would like to hear it
thanx

Hi

Hi

I had used KCl in cultures of RGC and they worked great. just you need to be careful not to cross the threshold of membrane potential from -70mv. i used 30mM KCl for a short time of around 10mins and was able to see depolarization occuring...

best of wishes and luck
