Any one please explane me Why Reptiles digestive system need to be diffrent from Human digestive system. i know it is because of adoptation . i want to know more clear explennation.
Reptilian digestive system is alot very different from human or for that matter mammalian digestive system. To understand this, first of all the humans are one of the highest evolved species on the planet. and reptiles have some what slower and sluggish migation. The digestion process will vary in case of different repltilian orders like from turtles to snakes to lizards and crocdiles to name a few.
Crocodiles are one of he most evolved reptilians. They have a specialized churnng organ like that of birds which is called gizzard. secondly the stomach is one of the most acidic known in the entire animal kingdom. At the same time they exhibit salt glands on their tongues which are meant for excretion of extra salts. Also their stomach exhibit the properties for digesting almost anything from bones to nails which is definitely absent in humans and other mammals.
First of all, thanks for your prompt reply, I absolutely agree with you and can understand HOW the digestive system of reptiles is different. But my original Question :
“why these systems would need to be different and not the same in humans?”
This was asked in one of my school project. I know the answer should around reptile’s adaptation like they live in the wild and have evolved over time to adapt to this habitat, for example the salivary glands of some reptiles has been modified so that they are now poisonous glands to warn of predators and kill prey.
It would be more help if you could through some light in these aspects.
The answer lies in the fact related to their excretory system also. You can get the clue if you are able to see the comparison between their excr. sys also. Just try, if you are not able to find then I will explain.
I don't guess any more, please any one explain few thing about it, as my project closing date is Friday.
